Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that the State government would adopt teaching methods being followed in developed countries, including the U.K., to improve the academic standards of the government schools in Andhra Pradesh.

“High-level teams of officials have been visiting various countries to study the teaching methods, which would be implemented in the State soon,” said the Chief Minister, who, along with HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, attended the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting at Bhamini village in Parvatipuram-Manyam district.

Many significant reforms will be introduced within three years as part of the Andhra School of Education. Already, the students are being categorised into three categories— Stream, Mountain and Sky— in accordance with their performance level so that the teachers will make every student the best in academics within a targeted period, Mr. Naidu said.

“The students’ performance will be monitored constantly, instead of assessing their standards only after the correction of the examination papers. Guidance at every stage will make the students good in all subjects,” said Mr. Naidu, adding that all government schools would have adequate numbers of teachers.

Mr. Lokesh said that the government was planning to hold a student innovators partnership summit to facilitate direct interaction between the students and entrepreneurs.

‘Kalalaku Rekkalu’

“The government would extend financial assistance for the students to pursue education in foreign countries under the Kalalaku Rekkalu (wings to dreams) , adding that the new scheme would be launched soon.

Mr. Naidu and Mr. Lokesh congratulated Parvatipuram-Manyam Collector N. Prabhakar Reddy for launching the ‘Mustabu’ programme in schools by making every student come to school in a proper manner.
